What is the Vienna Law Review?

The University of Vienna Law Review (VLR) is an internationally visible publication project of our Doctoral School. This open-access journal provides a platform for young legal scholars to publish outstanding research results.

The VLR is published in English and addresses an international academic audience. It covers a wide range of legal fields, with a particular focus on interdisciplinary approaches and international perspectives.

The editorial team consists of current Fellows as well as alumnae and alumni of our Doctoral School. The editors are supported by dissertation supervisors, the management of the Doctoral School, and external experts. All submissions undergo an anonymised peer-review process to ensure the highest academic standards and best practices.

The journal publishes both medium-length academic articles (20–40 pages) and concise summaries of excellent dissertations (“Summaries”).

Information on formatting and citation can be found on the Vienna Law Review website or in the corresponding formatting and style sheet documents.
